MOSCOW, August 7. /TASS/. The number of trucks waiting to exit Ukraine has surged by nearly 50% in the past day, according to data from the official electronic system for trucks and buses, reviewed by TASS. Currently, 7,754 trucks are queued at border crossings, reflecting a sharp increase from the previous day.

The majority of these vehicles – 6,835 – are at the border with Poland, followed by Slovakia with 581 and Romania with 325. The busiest checkpoint, Jagodzin-Dorohusk, alone accounts for 2,950 waiting trucks. At this location, waiting times for loaded trucks may exceed seven days, while empty trucks could be delayed by more than five days. Notably, congestion is most severe at checkpoints serving standard trucks, whereas queues at those with a 7.5-ton weight limit are substantially shorter.

Since July 22, Ukraine’s Black Sea ports – Odessa, Chernomorsk, and Yuzhny – have been idle, with no foreign cargo vessels arriving or departing. These ports, which handle the majority of Ukrainian grain exports and metallurgical products, have remained non-operational during the peak harvest season. Consequently, Ukrainian producers are compelled to reroute their exports through alternative channels, including the Danube ports of Izmail, Reni, and Ust-Dunaisk, the Romanian port of Constanta, and via road and rail to the country's western border, despite the higher costs involved.
